Shine A Light This February
Published
February has arrived and love is in the air. This time of year, we gather together on social media to raise awareness for The Longest Day and show our love to those close to us who have been impacted by Alzheimer’s and all other dementias through our Shine a Light Campaign.

This year, The Longest Day falls on June 20 and it is the day with the most light - the summer solstice. Thousands of participants from across the globe will come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through an activity of their choice.
Shine a Light allows us to help spread the word about our participation in The Longest Day and get a head start on fundraising for this year’s event. Together, we can inspire our followers to share stories about their loved ones impacted by Alzheimer’s. The more light we shine on this disease, the more dollars we raise and the more impact we can have on the trajectory of this epidemic.
This month, please share who you’ll shine a light for by posting a selfie, a photo of a loved one or a video on social media letting others know why The Longest Day is important to you and why you are raising funds for a world without Alzheimer’s. When sharing on Twitter or Instagram, use the hashtags #TheLongestDay and #ENDALZ and your post could be added to our online gallery at alz.org/ShineALight.
Pro Tip!: Include a link in your post or bio leading to your personal fundraising webpage.
New this year, we also have a Shine a Light Instagram Story Template to make shining a light on your loved ones even easier.
Don’t delay - help us honor and celebrate your loved one while simultaneously shining a light on the importance of fighting this growing epidemic.
Thank you to all of you who have already posted your shine a light tribute. On behalf of your loved ones and all those facing Alzheimer’s disease, we will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. We are honored to have you by our side doing the same.
